Why Reddit Removed Your Product Launch Post

Symptoms you may be seeing
Check what matches — if more than half applies, this page is for you.
- Post removed within hours or a modmail warning arrives
- Account karma below 100 or younger than 30 days
- No genuine participation history in the target sub
- Post body is mostly a product link
- Same link reposted across subs
Why this happens:5 root causes
1. Low-karma new accounts posting links
Reddit's anti-spam system heavily discounts external links from accounts under 30 days old with less than 100 karma — auto-filters usually catch them.
Self-check: Do you have 3+ non-promotional posts in your history?
2. Violating the self-promotion ratio
Reddit communities broadly follow a ~9:1 content ratio — nine parts contribution, one part self-promo; pure promo accounts get systematically suppressed.
Self-check: How many of your last 10 posts are promotional?
3. Posting in subs that ban promotion
Every sub has its own rules; many explicitly ban any self-promotion, and mods remove violating posts outright.
Self-check: Did you read the rules and pinned posts before posting?
4. Community reports or auto-filters
Reported posts enter an auto-review queue; marketing-flavored titles and links are the most common triggers.
Self-check: Does your title read like ad copy (feature lists / big promises)?
5. Moderator discretion
Even without a written-rule violation, mods may remove posts at their discretion — especially promotion from unfamiliar faces.
Self-check: Did you receive a modmail explanation, and how familiar are you in that community?
Where this fits in the growth roadmap
Multi-Platform Launch
Launch concurrently on Product Hunt / HN / Reddit / directories to capture the first wave of exposure and turn it into a lasting asset.
Why this stage is prone to it
- Posting the same copy everywhere, treated as spam by communities
- Going to sleep after posting, missing the golden comment window

How do you launch multi-platform overseas without fumbling it?
Prepare per-platform materials (PH wants assets and a first review, HN wants a technical story, Reddit demands real prior participation), follow the T-30 to T+7 countdown, reply to comments within 1 hour on launch day, and finish the data review within 72 hours. Never buy votes, swap upvotes, or run fake accounts.
